This might be because your browser is set to 'open a new tab' and SquarePage is also set to 'open at start'. Go into the SquarePage Settings and uncheck 'Open at browser start'

You are most likely on a search-only page, this page has limited functionality. If you go to "Pages" you can create a new page and set that as your default. Look for the "+" button at the top left of your page.
Yes. As long as you have the extension installed, your data will be backed up for a limited amount of time. You can retrieve your data on another computer by going to the settings -> about and copy/paste the ID you see under MY DATA section.
If you go into the settings (top right corner of page) under general options, you should see "Hide branding" toggle that on.
